Principal's Message

Dear Students and Families,

I am excited to introduce myself to you! My name is Edwin Taylor, and I am truly honored to be part of the Luther Burbank Middle School family. With over 20 years of experience in education, including time as a special education teacher, football coach and a school administrator, I am passionate about creating a learning environment where every student feels seen, supported, and empowered to succeed.
 
I believe strongly in building positive relationships, encouraging student voices, and fostering a culture of respect, collaboration, and high expectations.

On a personal level, I have been married to my wife Carmelitha for over 25 years. I am a father of two University of Texas graduates. I love to talk to students about my favorite anime shows, movies, and sports. 
 
As a United States Army veteran, I look forward to helping develop student leaders and encouraging them to help better their community.
 
At Luther Middle School, we will all work together to help students be accountable, meet attendance standards, and achieve high academic standards on local and state assessments. My vision is that all staff, students and parents actively engage in our CORE values of Respect, Excellence and Community.
 
I look forward to getting to know each of you and working together to make this a wonderful and successful school year.
